One Killed And Four Injured In Accident Involving FDL Ambulance

The State Patrol says a 21-year-old Fond du Lac man died and a 28-year-old Theresa man was seriously injured when their car struck a city ambulance in Fond du Lac early Tuesday morning. It happened at the intersection of Johnson and Main Streets about 4:25 am. According to the preliminary investigation the car ran a red light striking the ambulance. The driver of the car, the Theresa man, was pinned inside and had to be extricated. He was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with life-threatening injuries. His passenger, the Fond du Lac man, died of his injuries. The ambulance crew and the patient they were transporting were taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with minor injuries.
