Warrant Scam Reported In Columbia County
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says someone is spoofing their phone number to fool resident’s caller ID and using it to try and scam them. A caller using the name “Jim Smith” says they tell residents they have two warrants for failing to show up for jury duty and contempt of court. He states they owe $50 on each warrant and they would rather not send a deputy because the resident has a clean record. They then ask for credit card numbers to pay for the warrant. The Sheriff’s Office would never ask for credit card numbers to pay for a warrant.
OASD Free Student Meals
Students attending schools in the Oshkosh Area School District will receive free meals through the end of the year or until funding is depleted. The offer is made possible due to USDA waivers in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Any charges for paid meals will be reversed and all current school meal account money will be held for the student’s use after the December 31st program expiration or when funding is completed.

Masonry and stone work have begun on the facility’s north side and will proceed around the facility exterior. The work will continue through this month and next. The interior of the building is also taking shape. Framing is complete, and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work is underway.
