State health officials say nearly 2,400 tests that came back Thursday tested positive for COVID-19. The 2,392 positive tests were 18 percent of the total 13,279 test results that came back and the second most since the first case was reported in February. The death toll rose by six to 1,265 persons. State health officials also say the number of active cases increased to 16,315 while over the last seven months 90,726 people have recovered. In that same span nearly 6,900 people have been hospitalized.
The 180 new COVID-19 cases in Winnebago County Thursday brought the county’s total to 3,168 cases and 1 new death put that toll at 24 cases. Sixty-three new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County giving it a total of 1,904 cases with 13 deaths. Dodge County had 51 new cases putting its total cases at 1,728 with 14 deaths. Sixteen new cases were reported in Green Lake County where there have been 231 total cases. Sixteen new cases were also reported in Marquette County, which has had 223 cases and 1 death. Waupaca County had 22 new cases reported putting its total cases at 992 with 20 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department recorded 15 new cases, which give it 322 cases and 2 deaths since the outbreak began.
