The state’s Department of Health Services reported 2,217 new COVID-19 cases Sunday or 27.6 percent of the 8,023 test results that came back. That brings Wisconsin’s total cases of the coronavirus to 115,862 people since the first case was reported on February 5th. Over the past seven days the state has averaged 2,328 new cases a day. One new death was reported yesterday bringing that toll to 1,281 people. The Wisconsin Hospital Association Sunday reported 571 hospitalizations due to the virus and 166 of those patients are in intensive care.
Winnebago County’s number of COVID-19 cases continued to mount Sunday with 113 new cases bringing its total cases to 3,681 cases and 26 deaths. Fond du Lac County surpassed 2,000 totals cases over the weekend reaching 2,045 cases Sunday with 13 deaths during the pandemic. Dodge County reported 31 new cases yesterday giving it 1,837 cases with 16 deaths. Sixteen new cases were recorded in Green Lake County Sunday giving it 277 total cases. Marquette County had 13 new cases bringing its total cases to 264 with one death. Waupaca County over the weekend reached 1,043 COVID cases with 20 deaths. Waushara County has reported 348 total cases and 2 deaths since the outbreak began.
