Violence Continues In Kenosha In Wake Of Police Shooting

26 August 2020 News

Governor Tony Evers issued an executive order Tuesday declaring a state of emergency calling up additional Wisconsin National Guard in the wake of violence sparked by the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha Sunday. There was a third straight night of violence in Kenosha and additional violence in Madison last evening. A fence was erected around the Kenosha County courthouse. Protestors tried to pull it down and fired fireworks at law enforcement who responded with tear gas and what were thought to be pepper balls. An attorney for Blake’s family said yesterday the 29-year-old was paralyzed due to the shooting. The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating Blake’s shooting.
