A four-day jury trial has been scheduled next January for the 28-year-old Oshkosh man suspected of murdering a retired Oshkosh Police Captain. Ian Suzuki is charged in Winnebago County court with first degree intentional homicide and battery. Charges against him stem from the stabbing death of 67-year-old Jay Puestohl on February 2nd. Suzuki was a guest in his mother’s home and had a history of mental health issues. When Puestohl tried to kick him out of the home the two got into a fight. Suzuki went to the kitchen and got a knife and allegedly stabbed Puestohl in the neck. The trial is scheduled to begin January 11th of next year with a final pre-trial on January 6th.
