With six more deaths reported Wednesday Wisconsin reached 1,100 COVID-19 deaths with the last 100 deaths occurring in 16 days. It took 21 days for the state to reach its first 100 deaths from the virus and 15 days to move from 900 to 1,000 deaths. Meanwhile 768 people or 7.4 percent of the 10,378 tested in the latest batch of results tested positive for COVID. Since the outbreak began in February 72,260 residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. There are still 7,412 active cases in the state.
Winnebago County moved past 1,400 COVID-19 cases Wednesday with 19 new cases giving it a total of 1,402 with 21 deaths. Dodge County Public Health reported 11 new cases giving the county 1,057 total cases with 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County eclipsed 1,000 cases with 25 new coronavirus cases yesterday giving it 1,018 with 10 deaths. There was no change in Green Lake County, which has had 87 cases. Marquette County reported 2 new cases giving it 85 totals cases with 1 death. Waupaca County recorded 17 new cases bringing its total cases to 637 with 17 deaths. The Waushara County Health Department reported 1 additional case putting its total cases at 146 with 1 death since the pandemic began.
