State health officials got some good news Wednesday with less than 5 percent of test results returned for COVID-19 testing positive. In fact 4.8 percent or 478 of the 9,924 test results came back positive for the virus. The state also reported 5 more deaths bringing that toll since the outbreak began to 1,011. A total of 61,785 state residents have tested positive for the coronavirus since testing began.
Waupaca County had one new COVID-19 death Wednesday and is inching closer to 500 total cases with 13 new cases giving it 495 cases while the death toll from the virus in the county in now at 16. Winnebago County reported 4 new cases giving it 1,216 cases and 18 deaths. Dodge County recorded 12 news cases and has had 857 cases and 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County saw a spike in its cases with 30 new cases to put its totals at 715 cases and 8 deaths. Green Lake and Marquette counties had no new cases with Green Lake County remaining at 57 cases and Marquette County at 80 cases with 1 death. Two new cases in Waushara County brought its total to 127 cases and 1 death since the health crisis began.
