Wisconsin hit a milestone in its testing for COVID-19 Wednesday with more than one million residents having been tested for the virus. The Department of Health Services says 1,001,924 people have been tested since early February. As for Wednesday’s test results 884 new cases were reported or 5.2 percent of the 17,023 test results that came back. Sixty-four of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases. Nine more people also died from the coronavirus bringing that toll to 970 deaths.
Waushara County yesterday recorded its first death due to the coronavirus a man in his 70’s with underlying medical conditions. It has had a total of 112 cases since the health crisis began. Winnebago County reported a dozen new COVID-19 cases Wednesday putting its total cases at 1,094 with 18 deaths. Dodge County recorded 15 new cases giving it 743 total cases with 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County edged closer to 600 totals cases, its 11 new cases gives it 597 cases with 6 deaths. One new case in Green Lake County gives it 54 cases and Marquette County had 4 new cases putting its total cases at 75 with 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health Services reported 8 new cases giving it a total of 417 cases with 15 deaths.
