The state’s Department of Health Services says 13 people died from COVID-19 in its latest update Tuesday bringing the death toll since the outbreak began in February to 1,052. Meanwhile another 634 new cases of coronavirus or 6.3 percent of the 9,991 test results came back positive for the virus. Fifty-three of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases yesterday and 12 had double-digit or triple-digit increases. The total number of cases in Wisconsin during the pandemic has reached 66,830 with 8,378 active cases.
Winnebago County edged closer to 1,300 total COVID-19 cases Tuesday reporting 5 new cases giving it 1,293 with 19 deaths. Thirteen new cases were reported in Dodge County where there have been 955 cases and 5 deaths. Fond du Lac County reported 21 new cases and 1 new death raising its coronavirus totals to 816 cases and 9 deaths since early February. One new case in Green Lake County puts its total cases at 64 while Marquette County had no new cases remaining at 81 total cases and 1 death. Eleven new cases in Waupaca County gives it a total of 560 cases with 16 deaths. There were no changes to Waushara County’s totals, which are 132 cases and 1 death since the health crisis began.
