The number of new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday dipped to under 5 percent of the test results that came back in Wisconsin. State health officials say there were 839 new cases or 4.7 percent of the 17,706 results that came back. The total of overall cases confirmed positive since the outbreak began is 57,779. The state also reported 8 more deaths raising the toll to 978 deaths. There are 9,562 active COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin.
Health officials in Winnebago County reported 17 new COVID-19 cases Thursday raising the county’s total to 1,111 cases with 18 deaths. Dodge County added 14 cases putting its total at 757 cases with 5 deaths. The 16 new cases in Fond du Lac County moved it to 613 total cases of the virus with 6 deaths. Green Lake County had no new cases staying at 54 total cases and Marquette County added 1 new case putting its total at 76 cases and 1 death. Waupaca County Public Health Services reported 15 new cases Thursday giving it 432 total cases with 15 deaths. Waushara County has reported 111 cases and 1 death since the health crisis began in February.
