The state’s Department of Health Services saw a decrease Monday in the number of test results it got back for COVID-19, but also saw a decline in the percentage of cases that tested positive. The DHS got back 7,173 test results and 5.6 percent of those or 404 people tested positive for the coronavirus. That was down from the 9.6 percent that tested positive Sunday and the first decline in the percentage of cases testing positive since Friday. Since February a total of 55,328 people have tested positive and of that 9,866 are still active cases. One person died from the pandemic since Sunday putting that total at 949 deaths.
Winnebago County reported 8 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death Monday bringing its total cases to 1,063 and the number of deaths to 18 from the disease. Three new cases were recorded in Dodge County giving it 705 cases with 5 deaths. Cases of the coronavirus in Fond du Lac County increased to 575 with 6 deaths. No new cases were reported in Green Lake and Marquette counties yesterday. Green Lake County has had 52 cases and Marquette County 71 cases with 1 death. Waupaca County is closing in on 400 COVID-19 cases reporting 390 cases with 15 deaths. Waushara County has reported 108 cases since the health crisis began in early February.
