Former Ripon Man Charged For Alleged Sex Crimes

Bond has been set at $15,000 cash for a former Ripon man charged with sex crimes including attempted first degree child sex assault-sexual contact with a person under the age of 13. Twenty-seven-year-old Austin Walther of Stevens Point is also charged with child enticement, causing a child to listen or view a sex act, and exposing his genitals to a child for incidents that allegedly occurred at a residence in Ripon between July 14th and July 22nd of this year. According to the criminal complaint the victim was a 6-year-old girl. Walther was arrested by Ripon Police last Friday night after he was interviewed about the accusations. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Fond du Lac County court for September 18th.
