FDL Man To Appear In Court On Homicide Charge

A 27-year-old Fond du Lac man is expected to make his initial court appearance today on a first degree intentional homicide charge stemming from a fatal accident in the County last Friday evening. Sheriff’s officials say Daniel Navarro was driving his pickup truck east on Winnebago Drive when he crossed over the centerline and struck a motorcycle being operated by 55-year-old Phillip Thiessen of Fond du Lac. Thiessen was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Wednesday the Sheriff’s Department posted a plea on Facebook asking for any surveillance video from the area of Winnebago Drive between North Park Avenue and U.S. Highway 151 between the hours of 5 to 7 pm last Friday.
