The state health department says 540 new COVID-19 cases were reported Wednesday or 4.3 percent of the 12,608 new test results that came back. That’s down from Tuesday’s 601 cases and gives the state 29,199 cases since the outbreak began. The state also reported 2 more deaths putting the death toll at 786. The number of current patients hospitalized because of the virus went down from 242 to 237.
Winnebago County Wednesday reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 giving it 683 cases and 11 deaths. Two new cases were reported in Dodge County bringing its total to 461 cases and 5 deaths. Two new cases were also reported in Fond du Lac County putting its totals at 314 cases and 6 deaths. Green Lake County had 1 new case reported yesterday giving it 33 cases, while Marquette County had 3 new cases giving it 16 cases with 1 death. Waupaca County had 4 new cases of the coronavirus yesterday giving it 120 cases with 9 deaths and Waushara County recorded 3 new cases putting its total at 29 cases.
