Wisconsin reported 870 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday as just over 5.9 percent of the 14,694 test results that came back were positive. State health officials say 51,049 residents have tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began in early February and 19 percent or 9,704 of those cases are still active. Fifty-six of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases yesterday. Five more people died from the coronavirus bringing that toll to 911.

Winnebago County Wednesday crept closer to 1,000 COVID-19 cases with 8 new cases putting its total at 978 with 16 deaths. Seven new cases were reported in Dodge County putting its total cases at 634 with 5 deaths.  Fond du Lac County recorded 11 new cases of the coronavirus bringing its total cases to 520, but the state revised the number of deaths in the county taking one off the board putting that number back at 6. Green Lake County had one new case giving it a total of 50 cases, and Marquette County also reported one new case putting its total cases at 67 with one death. Waupaca County Public Health Services reported 8 new cases giving it 342 total cases and 15 deaths. Waushara County recorded 4 new cases giving it a total of 94 since the health crisis began.
