29 July 2020 News

Wisconsin passed two unenviable milestones in the pandemic Tuesday topping 50,000 total cases and 900 deaths due to COVID-19. State health officials reported 762 new cases or about 5.3 percent of the 14,424 test results that were returned. That gives the state 50,179 total cases since the outbreak began in early February. Thirteen more deaths were also reported putting that toll at 906. It took the state 95 days to reach its first 10,000 cases, but only 11 days to move from 40,000 cases to more than 50,000.

Winnebago County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday putting its total at 970 cases with 16 deaths. Five new cases were reported in Dodge County running its total up to 627 cases with 5 deaths. The state says Fond du Lac County had 1 new death due to the coronavirus putting the toll for the county at 7 deaths and county health officials also reported 8 new cases putting that total at 509 cases. No new cases were reported in Green Lake County which has had 49 cases and Marquette County had one case removed from the board putting its total at 66 cases with 1 death. One new case of coronavirus and one new death were recorded in Waupaca County, which has had 334 cases and 15 deaths.
