Wisconsin continues to see high numbers of new COVID-19 cases with 900 reported Thursday or 6.31 percent of 14,217 test results that were returned. The state’s Health Services Department says nearly 21 percent of cases are active. Over the past 30 days 8,236 people tested positive or began showing symptoms of the coronavirus. Four more deaths yesterday also brought the death toll to 831 since the outbreak began. The state is expected to surpass 40,000 cases today, it currently has 39,627 cases.
Officials in Winnebago County reported 6 new COVID-19 cases Thursday bringing the county’s total to 810 cases and 14 deaths. Dodge County saw 4 new cases and has 541 cases and 5 deaths. Eight news cases were reported in Fond du Lac County bringing its totals to 416 cases with 6 deaths. With one new case Green Lake County now has 44 coronavirus cases, and Marquette County held steady at 55 cases with one death. Waupaca County reported 3 new cases yesterday putting its totals at 205 cases with 13 deaths, and Waushara County had no news cases so its total remains at 48 cases since the pandemic began.
