Lake Winnebago Rescue

A 31-year-old Fond du Lac man was rescued from Lake Winnebago Sunday morning when his boat started taking on water. He was able to call the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department. Using coordinates from his 911 call they were able to pinpoint his location. Another boater was able to assist him and began towing his boat to keep it from fully sinking. When the Sheriff’s rescue patrol arrived, they took over towing the boat and got it back to the Fond du Lac marina. When the boat was inspected it was learned the drain plug was no longer in place it had come loose during the boat ride.
