6 June 2020 News

Fond du Lac, Wis. – Envision Greater Fond du Lac has awarded three scholarships to students who participated in the Youth Apprenticeship program.

The Youth Apprenticeship Program is a part of a statewide initiative. It is designed for high school students who want hands-on learning in an area of career interest at a worksite, along with classroom instruction. This one- or two-year elective program combines academic and technical instruction with mentored on-the-job learning. The Youth Apprenticeship Scholarship is available to students who participate in the program as a junior or senior in one of seven area high schools.

This year’s scholarship recipients are: Karissa Albrecht, from Oakfield High School, who intends to attend Marian University or Moraine Park Technical College for nursing; Elyssa Belling, from Fond du Lac High School, who intends to pursue a degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh; and Maddie Gehring, from St. Mary’s Springs Academy, who plans to pursue a degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
