Wisconsin took a step backward Wednesday with a record 528 new COVID-19 cases out of the 6,591 test results returned. The 8 percent that came back positive for the virus gave the state a total of 13,413 since the pandemic began. State health officials say 297 of the new cases were reported in Milwaukee County. There were also 14 more deaths bringing the death toll to 481.

Fond du Lac County Health Department officials are reporting 146 cases, but the state differs saying the county has had 148 with 3 deaths. Winnebago County reported 8 new cases for a total of 134 with 1 death. Dodge County has 3 new cases for a total of 112 with 1 death. Green Lake County held steady at 11 cases and Marquette County at 3 cases and 1 death. Waupaca County’s total of 19 cases with 1 death and Waushara County’s 7 cases remained the same.
