Pole Barn Fire In The Town Of Rosendale

A fire late Thursday morning in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Rosendale destroyed a hay barn and a chicken coup with 200 chickens in it. Sheriff’s officials say it was a 40 by 40 foot pole barn at N9366 Hickory Road, which contained 200 bales of hay, a skid loader, and an attached chicken coup. The property owner, Lisa Ferry, had an electric wall mount heater and heat lamp in the chicken coup when she spotted the fire. It’s believed the heat lamp started the blaze, which is not considered suspicious. No injuries were reported except the loss of the chickens. The time of the fire call was 10:27 a.m.
