FDL County Sheriff Talks About Department’s Role During Pandemic

23 April 2020 News

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says his department continues to prioritize responding to immediate and emergent tragedies during the pandemic. In a post on the Department’s Facebook page he said they continue to respond to domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, and highway safety violations; many of which intensify during stressful times. He notes they also investigate complaints about violations of the Safer at Home order, but most people violating the order are willing to voluntarily comply with a little education and no enforcement action is needed.  He says there will be more change ahead as people adapt to the “new normal.”
