U.S. Senate Passes Stimulus Bill

26 March 2020 News

(Senator Ron Johnson)

The U.S. Senate passed the Cares Act by a 96 to nothing vote late Wednesday night. The $2 Trillion Stimulus Bill will go to the House for a vote Friday. Senator Ron Johnson says, “American workers who’ve lost their jobs because their employers had to shut down need financial support. Their employers who have been forced to cease operation or have seen their business drastically decline also need funds to remain viable-so that they can reopen and rehire their workforce once the medical crisis has subsided. Financial markets require liquidity to keep functioning.” Senator Tammy Baldwin says, “We face a public health crisis that threatens our economy and this bipartisan response from the Senate supports families, workers, small businesses, hospitals, and our public health care system.”
