RASD Students At School Virtually
27 March 2020 News
Students stuck at home are still attending the Ripon Area School District, virtually. Using a Google Meets platform students are taking classes online. District Superintendent Mary Whitrock says they are making sure they are getting in their curriculum and standards. This first week has been about making sure the interaction between students and teachers is working. She says on monitors it looks like the opening of a popular early 70’s TV show. “It kind of looks like the old-fashioned Brady Bunch where you have multiple faces on the screen and you have your camera on and you have a microphone you can turn on and off or mute and you are able to engage in conversation and listen to the teacher.” Whitrock says the school board will ask for a waiver on the number of hours of instruction required by the state hoping the virtual schooling will meet that guideline.
