The Packers were active in free agent moves over the last several days and some of their players will have new homes in the fall. Green Bay has signed linebacker Christian Kirksey to a 2-year deal worth $16 million. Kirksey was cut by the Cleveland Browns last week. Meanwhile linebacker Blake Martinez has signed a 3-year deal with the New York Giants worth $30 million. Outside linebacker Tyler Fackrell has also signed a deal with Giants. It’s a one-year deal worth $4.6 million.
After 10 years with Green Bay offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga will be playing with the Los Angeles Chargers. That’s a 3-year deal worth $30 million. Former Packers’ wide receiver Randall Cobb has signed a 3-year $27 million contract with Houston Texans after spending the last year with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers have tendered all of the team’s exclusive rights free agents: tight end Robert Tonyan Jr, receiver Allen Lazard, receiver Jake Kumerow, cornerback Chandon Sullivan and defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster. Offered tenders are essentially bound to their NFL team.
A couple of veteran quarterbacks will be playing for new teams next year. Tom Brady’s days with the New England Patriots are over. Brady will be playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile Phillip Rivers will be wearing an Indianapolis Colts Uniform when the season starts.
