WIAA officials say the Girls State Basketball Tournament will go on as planned at the Resch Center in Green Bay, but they are closely monitoring the coronavirus situation. About 30,000 to 40,000 people are expected to make their way to the tournament during the 3-day event. The State’s Department of Health Services is still encouraging those attending to practice good hygiene and consider how they greet each other foregoing the usual hand shaking. The tournament begins tomorrow.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced their first round of roster reduction moves. Prospects Corey Ray and Trey Supak will both be on the team’s 40-man roster. Meanwhile being reassigned to minor-league camp are right-handers Jesus Castillo, Thomas Jankins, Drew Rasmussen and Miguel Sanchez, left-handers Clayton Andrews and Ethan Small, catchers Mario Feliciano and Payton Henry and third baseman Lucas Erceg.

In other Brewer news Eric Lauer won’t be available to be the fifth starter in the Crew’s pitching rotation. Manager Craig Counsell explained yesterday that Lauer is dealing with a left shoulder impingement. Counsell says the issue for the left-hander is “relatively minor.” Lauer experienced the injury after his last start on March 1st. It does mean Lauer won’t be on the Brewer’s Opening Day roster.

The Brewers picked up a win over the Kansas City Royals in exhibition play yesterday 5 to 2. The Crew has 10 wins and 6 losses in Spring Training. Tonight they take on the Dodgers. The first pitch is at 8:05 pm on 98.3 FM.

The Green Bay Packers 15th Annual Tailgate Tour will be held May 15th through the 17th. Stops on the tour will include La Crosse on May 15th, Madison on May 16th, and Milwaukee on May 17th. Among the former players and personnel expected to make the tour are Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, Super Bowl XLV champions Tramon Williams, Nick Collins, John Kuhn, Brandon Jackson, James Jones and James Starks. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Packers Super Bowl XLV Championship.
