Hometown Broadcasting Sports Tuesday 3/10/20

The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their third straight game Monday night losing to the Denver Nuggets 109-95. Jamal Murray scored 21 points, Paul Millsap had 20 and Jerami Grant added 19 to lead the Nuggets attack. Milwaukee was without reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has a knee injury, as well as starters Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton and key backup George Hill. Altogether the Bucks were without six of their starters. Up next for Milwaukee they will host the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.

Wisconsin Badgers Head Coach Greg Gard has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year, while juniors Nate Reuvers and D’Mitrik Trice were each named third-team All-Big Ten honorees. The league announced its all-Big Ten teams and individual awards yesterday. Gard is just the second coach in UW history to win Big Ten Coach of the Year and the first since 2015, joining four-time winner Bo Ryan. The Badgers kick off Big-Ten tourney play Friday in Indianapolis.

Sturgeon Bay native Kevin “Butch” Barry has joined the Green Bay Packers as a senior assistant. The NFL Network says Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur made that move. Barry was most recently the offensive line coach for the Miami Hurricanes. Before that he was an assistant offensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for four seasons. Barry is a 1996 graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School where he was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Clippers.

The Milwaukee Brewers edged the Seattle Mariners in spring ball Monday night 2 to 1. The Brew Crew scored both their runs on solo homers from Lorenzo Cain and Luis Castro. This afternoon Milwaukee plays Kansas City. First pitch is at 3:05 pm on 98.3 FM.
