Nate Reuvers scored 11 points as No. 24 Wisconsin struggled through a poor offensive performance in a 63-48 win over Northwestern on Wednesday night. The win moved the Badgers (20-10, 13-6 Big Ten) into a three-way tie for first place in the Big Ten. Wisconsin was not effective with the ball against a team that has the 12th-worst defense in the league, giving up more than 70 points a game, and is in last place in the conference. Northwestern drops to (7-22, 2-17). Pete Nance led Northwestern with 14 points. Wisconsintravels to Indiana on Saturday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 29 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and the Milwaukee Bucks recovered after squandering an early 22-point lead to trounce the Indiana Pacers 119-100 on Wednesday night. The Bucks bounced back from a 105-89 loss at Miami in which they posted their lowest point total of the season. An NBA-best 53-9, Milwaukee hasn’t lost back-to-back games all season. Indiana had a four-game winning streak snapped as it fell into a tie with Philadelphia for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pacers also lost guard Malcolm Brogdon to a sore left hip in the second quarter. The Pacers were without Victor Oladipo for the second straight game because of a sore right knee. Milwaukee was missing reserve guards George Hill (groin contusion) and Kyle Korver (back soreness). This game marked a return to form for the NBA’s highest-scoring team. After scoring at least 100 points in 83 consecutive regular-season games — the third-longest streak in NBA history — the Bucks failed to reach the century mark in a 93-85 victory at Charlotte on Sunday and their loss at Miami. Khris Middleton had 20 points and Donte DiVincenzo matched a career high with 19 for the Bucks. Eric Bledsoe added 16 and Wesley Matthews had 15. T.J. Warren scored 18 points and Doug McDermott had 16 for the Pacers. Domantas Sabonis had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while T.J. McConnell had 14 points. Milwaukee begins a three-game trip tonight by facing the Los Angeles Lakers in a matchup between the teams with the top two records in the NBA. The Bucks beat the Lakers 111-104 in Milwaukee on Dec. 19.
In Cactus League play on Wednesday, the White Sox beat the Brewers 5-1 at Maryvalle. Kestin Hiura provided the only offense for Milwaukee with a fourth-inning homer, his third of the spring. Reliever Devin Williams gave up three runs in 2/3 of an inning in the seventh to take the loss and drop to 0-1. Starter Brandon Woodruff gave up one run in three innings. The Brewers play the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark this afternoon with the first pitch at 2:05.

Year award, Ripon’s Lauren Busalacchi has repeated that feat. She joins former Ripon coach and Athletic Director Julie Johnson as two of three coaches that have won consecutive Coach of the Year awards in the MWC during the last 18 years.
On September 5, 2019 Jared Veldheer was at Soldier Field in Chicago in the stands to watch the Green Bay Packers-Chicago Bears season opener. On November 29, 2019 the Packers claimed the retired offensive lineman off of waivers. The veteran played the final four games including starting in place of a sick Bryan Bulaga in the Packers’ Divisional Round win against the Seattle Seahawks. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Veldheer plans to return next season. Veldheer, who turns 33 in June, will be an unrestricted free agent. “Multiple teams” were in contact with Veldheer’s reps at the NFL Scouting Combine, per Schefter, so it’s possible interest will be high once free agency begins. The Packers have a number of decision on unrestricted free agents including right tackle Bryan Bulaga, linebacker Blake Martinez, cornerback Tramon Williams and receiver Geronimo Allison.
The Wisconsin Badgers football program announced the hiring of former Green Bay Packers wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted on Wednesday. Whitted spent one season in Green Bay under head coach Matt LaFleur. Prior to his time with the Packers, Whitted held the same role at Colorado State from 2012-18. Wisconsin opens spring drills with a practice on Tuesday, March 10, and concludes with an open-to-the-public practice and fan event on Saturday, April 18. Wisconsin will open the 2020 season against Indiana on Friday, September 4 at Camp Randall Stadium.
