COVID-19 is shutting down a number of sporting events with recommendations against events with crowds in an all-out effort to prevent the spread of the Global Pandemic.
The WIAA late last night determined all remaining games of the State Girls Basketball Tournament, and the boys’ basketball section finals and the State Tournament will be cancelled in response to the evolving concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
Following the NBA’s lead the NCAA, NHL, PGA and Major League Soccer have cancelled or suspended their seasons. Major League Baseball has cancelled the rest of springing training games and will delay the start of the season by at least two weeks. The BIG Ten announced yesterday it was cancelling its Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Again the WIAA has cancelled the rest of post-season high school basketball.
The Milwaukee Brewers were supposed to play two split-squad games yesterday, but rain not fears of the coronavirus cancelled the games with the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks.
As expected yesterday the Green Bay Packers released veteran tight end Jimmy Graham. In two seasons with the Packers Graham caught 93 passes, but only 5 touchdown passes. His release from the Packers gives the team $8 million more space under the salary cap.
