A 33-year-old Oshkosh man who put an SUV into Silver Creek in Ripon early Monday morning was cited for operating while under the influence. According to an accident report released by the Ripon Police Department Dustin Hahn was also cited for failing to keep his vehicle under control, and unreasonable and imprudent speed. The SUV went off a curve at the intersection of West Oshkosh Street and North Union Street at a high rate of speed and hit the embankment, which sent it airborne into a tree and then into Silver Creek. Hahn suffered some facial injuries and his passenger 41-year-old Renee Dupie of Oshkosh suffered a chest injury. According to the report both seemed impaired. Both were taken to the Ripon Medical Center for treatment. Hahn was subsequently placed under arrest. There was heavy front end damage to the SUV. It was the second similar accident at that intersection in less than a month although the previous accident had more to do with weather conditions.
