Aleem Ford scored a career-high 19 points on Tuesday as Wisconsin held off a late charge from Purdue to win 69-65. Wisconsin (16-10, 9-6 Big Ten) built a lead in the second half with strong shooting behind the 3-point arc. But it secured the win over Purdue (14-13, 7-9) by hitting all eight free throws it took over the final 28 seconds. Trevion Williams scored 17 and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Purdue. Eastern scored 14 and Stefanovic 11. Brad Davison and Brevin Pritzl each scored 13 for the Badgers and Reuvers added 12. The Badgers were 19-of-20 shooting from the foul line to overcome 38% shooting (19 of 50) from the field.

Ty-Shon Alexander scored 22 points and Marcus Zegarowski added 17, leading No. 15 Creighton to a 73-65 victory over No. 19 Marquette. Creighton won for the eighth time in nine games, including road victories over three ranked teams, and moved within a half-game of first-place Seton Hall in the Big East standings. Sacar Anim had 18 points for Marquette. Markus Howard, who entered as the nation’s leading scorer at 27.3 points per game, added 13 – all in the second half.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell is preparing to shift his outfield around. Counsell told reporters Monday he plans to move Christian Yelich from right field to left. The Brewers signed Avisaíl García this offseason to play left field. The team plans to have veteran Ryan Braun split time with García. Braun will also have to dust off his first baseman’s mitt and again preparing for a move to the infield. He tried a similar transition two years ago after Milwaukee acquired Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich.
