Anthony Davis was a hometown hero by making a free throw. Davis made a game-ending free throw to give Team LeBron a 157-155 win over Team Giannis in the revamped NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night, the format overhauled to put in elements for charity and ensure that someone was going to hit a shot to end the game. Kawhi Leonard, the game’s MVP, scored 30 points for Team LeBron, while James — his team’s captain — and Chris Paul each scored 23, and Davis finished with 20. Giannis Antetokounmpo, who captained his team, led his squad with 25 points, Kemba Walker had 23 for Team Giannis, Joel Embiid scored 22 and Rudy Gobert added 21.

The 62nd running of the Daytona 500 will resume at 4 p.m. ET on Monday from Daytona International Speedway. Inclement weather forced the move after heavy rains came into the area in the late afternoon Sunday and persisted through the evening hours. When the red flag waved Sunday, pole winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was still in the lead in the No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet. Stenhouse led all 20 of the opening laps. Joey Logano, in the No. 22 Team Penske Ford, was in second place, with Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman and Kevin Harvick rounding out the top five. When the race resumes, there will be 45 laps remaining in Stage 1 of the three-stage race. This is the second time the Daytona 500 has been delayed until Monday because of weather. The first was in 2012.

Brad Davison couldn’t hit a shot in practice the last two days, but that changed Saturday when he scored 30 points on 8-of-11 3-point shooting to lead Wisconsin to an 81-64 win and send Nebraska to its school-record tying 10th straight loss 81-64 on Saturday. Two of Davison’s 3-pointers came as Wisconsin took control of the game with a 21-2 early second-half run.

Trailing 43-41, the Badgers (15-10, 8-6 Big Ten) made five 3-pointers in a 4½-minute stretch that saw them go up 57-45 on D’Mtrick Trice’s 3 with 13:43 remaining and take a 62-45 lead on Trice’s 3 just over a minute later.

Nebraska (7-18, 2-12) stopped the damage with a Thor Thorbjarnsen 3-pointer that ended a nearly five minute scoring drought. The Huskers cut the lead to 65-55 on Kevin Cross’s free throw with 7:46 left. But a Wisconsin 8-0 spurt — a pair of Davison 3-pointers around a Micah Potter layup — put the Badgers up 18, 73-65, and the game out of reach with 5:16 left. Wisconsin coach Greg Gard said Wisconsin’s second half dominance came on the defensive end of the floor, just as it did three weeks ago when the Badgers scored the first 10 points in the second half to take control of a close game against Nebraska in Madison.

Behind Davison, Wisconsin, which averages eight 3-pointers a game, finished with 15 on 31 attempts. Wisconsin hosts Purdue Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Brent Suter reached a two-year, $2.5 million deal Sunday that avoids an arbitration hearing that had been set for next week.

Suter returned from Tommy John surgery last September and went 4-0 with a 0.49 ERA in nine relief appearances, helping the Brewers earn an NL wild-card spot. Suter had mostly been a starter the previous two seasons with Milwaukee before having elbow surgery in July 2018. He is expected to be used out of the bullpen this year. Suter made $568,300 last year. He asked in arbitration for a $1.25 million salary this year and the Brewers offered $825,000. The 30-year-old gets a $100,000 signing bonus payable within 60 days and salaries of $900,000 this year and $1.5 million in 2021. His 2021 salary can escalate by up to $250,000 based on innings this year: $50,000 each for 80, 100, 120, 140 and 160.
