FDL Teen Leads Police On High Speed Pursuit

A 15-year-old Fond du Lac boy was taken into custody after leading Fond du Lac Police and a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy on a high speed chase in the city early this morning. A police officer spotted the teen’s vehicle doing 70 miles an hour on Scott Street heading east from Hickory Street. It then ran a red light heading west on Johnson Street from Park Avenue. A deputy joined the chase as the vehicle continued westbound on Johnson Street. Eventually the driver lost control at the intersection of Johnson Street and Rolling Meadows striking a telephone pole and business sign before coming to rest in a nearby parking lot. The pursuit covered 2.3 miles. The teen was arrested for fleeing, second degree recklessly endangering safety and was also cited for several traffic violations. The chase began about 12:08 am.
