The Green Bay Packers will host the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Divisional playoffs at Lambeau Field this Sunday, January 12 at 5:40 PM CT.
This will be the fourth time in Packers franchise history the team has played the Seahawks in the postseason. Green Bay is 2-1 all-time against the Seattle in the playoffs, though the last appearance Packers fans would hope not to remember. In the 2014 NFC Championship in Seattle, the Packers blew a 12-point lead with five minutes left in the fourth quarter and Seattle won in overtime 28-22. The Seahawks are 0-2 against the Packers at Lambeau Field in the postseason.
The fifth-seed Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on the road Sunday, 17-9. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a head injury in the first quarter and did not return. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson passed for 325 yards and ran for another 45. His 36 yard completion to rookie D.K. Metcalf iced the game with under two minutes remaining and enabled Seattle to run out the clock. Metcalf finished with seven catches for 160 yards including a 53 yard touchdown.
In the other NFC Wild Card game, the Vikings stunned the Saints in New Orleans, 26-20, in overtime and will play the number one seed 49ers, on Saturday at San Francisco. Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins threw a short touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph to win it.
In the AFC Wild Card round on Saturday, the Texans won at home over Buffalo, 22-19. Houston will play the number two seed Chiefs in Kansas City on Sunday.
In the other AFC Wild Card game, the Titans held off the Patriots in Foxboro 20-13 and will play the number one seed Ravens in Baltimore this Saturday.
A season that spun from seeming Super Bowl contention to playoff hopes squandered has marked the end of Jason Garrett’s run leading the Cowboys. After days of meetings, speculation and news of no news, the Cowboys are moving on without the second-longest-tenured coach in franchise history. The Cowboys fired Garrett on Sunday, following a disappointing 2019 season that saw his team miss the playoffs.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19 of the his 32 points in the third quarter Saturday night to help the NBA-leading Milwaukee Bucks beat the San Antonio Spurs 127-118. The Bucks improved to 32-5 with their fifth straight victory since a Christmas Day loss in Philadelphia. Eric Bledsoe added 21 points. DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with 26 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 – all the first half. Rudy Gay had 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
The Wiscosnin Herd won its 17th game of the season Sunday, beating Long Island 140-128. The 140 points is a season high for the Herd. All five Herd starters scored in double figures and seven total players scored 10 or more points for Wisconsin on Sunday. Frank Mason poured in a game-high 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting, while Dragan Bender, who was on assignment for the second consecutive game, tallied his fifth double-double of the season and posted a stat line of 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and season-high four blocks.
