Super Bowl 54 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Miami is just two days away.  The week is full of excitement, interviews and hype for both teams. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said it’s important to do a lot of game preparation before you arrive.  As for the 49ers, they’ve relied mostly on the running game so far in the postseason as the offense has rushed 75 percent of the time.  But, the 49ers can also throw the ball effectively. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said having wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is a big plus.  The Chiefs are slight favorites.  The game starts at 5:30.

NBA (Fri.)

Denver @ Milwaukee-The Bucks have won nine straight.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton will play in the NBA All-Star game for the second consecutive season. Middleton was added to the Eastern Conference All-Star reserves on Thursday. The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and the Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo will serve as team captains and draft the All-Star Game rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.  The NBA All-Star game is Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. on TNT.

The Green Bay Packers are on the lookout for a new wide receivers coaching according to multiple sources. Packers wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted has been let go after one season in Green Bay. The Packers struggled to get consistent depth behind Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams.  Second year receiver Allen Lazard was a bright spot for the position after not making the 53-man roster to start the season. Lazard was second on the team for receivers with 35 receptions for 477 yards and three touchdowns.  The Packers were 17th in the league in passing yards.  The Packers hired former Minnesota Vikings defensive backs coach Jerry Gray to replace Jason Simmons who left to take the same position with the Carolina Panthers.
