ATV Use For The Sport Of It
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Bill Tadych says the intention of more municipalities allowing the use of ATVs on their streets is for those operators to enjoy the sport. But he points out that people that just want to have another way of traveling from tavern-to-tavern or other drinking establishments could ruin it for everyone. “I hope the general populace out there isn’t thinking this is just another means of getting around and going from tavern-to-tavern because they are going to ruin it for the rest of the ATV drivers out there that just want to have a good time.” Most municipalities allowing the use of UTVs and ATVs on their streets limit it to roads with speed limits of less than 35 miles an hour and the rules of the road still apply.
