Package Of Bills Addresses Vaping
Governor Tony Evers last week unveiled a package of bills to address the issue of vaping, which has become a growing health issue. State Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling says the governor has always said what is best for kids is best for Wisconsin. She says the package addresses regulation and access to vaping products on school grounds and other places frequented by kids. “Right now a little bit of the Wild West, but there is not that kind of licensure and oversight of those businesses and certainly want to address that. Nationally Tobacco 21 has passed.” Tobacco 21 is a national campaign to raise the minimum legal age for tobacco and nicotine sales in the U.S. to 21. She says Wisconsin has to be on the front end of preventing the critical health threat to young people.
