Hollinshead was an Assistant State Attorney in Dekalb County, Illinois. The trial now is scheduled to begin June 1st.

Governor Concerned About Agriculture

State Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling says one of the key points to come out Governor Tony Evers State of the State Address this week is his desire to help out agriculture and farmers. “Not a day goes by that we don’t have headlines talking about the plight of our farmers here the challenging economic times that they are in. A staggering statistic that he mentioned was that we lose two farms a day here in Wisconsin.” She says to provide help Evers is calling a special session to address agricultural issues, which would include creating an initiative for dairy exports, looking at expanding the Farm Center, and creating a new regional mental health program for farmers. She says providing better infrastructure for transporting goods and broadband access would also help out farmers.

Deer Tests Positive For CWD In Marquette County

The DNR says an adult doe killed during the nine-day gun deer hunt last fall in Marquette County’s Buffalo Township has tested positive for chronic wasting disease. It’s the second wild deer to test positive for CWD in Marquette County, the first was in 2018. The doe was harvested within 10 miles of adjacent Columbia and Green Lake counties. Marquette, Columbia, and Green Lake counties already have deer baiting and feeding bans. The latest CWD case means the ban in Marquette County will be renewed for three years and the ban in Green Lake County for two years. The ban for Columbia County is renewed for three years due to wild deer CWD detections within the county.
