Two former UW-Oshkosh officials have been ordered to pay more than $75,000 in fines and restitution after they pleaded guilty to felony misconduct in office charges. Former Chancellor Richard Wells and former Vice-Chancellor Thomas Sonnleitner were suspected of funneling millions of dollars of the school’s money into real estate projects through the private UW-Oshkosh Foundation. Both pleaded guilty to a single count of felony misconduct in office charge and other charges were dismissed. Wednesday in Winnebago County court they were each ordered to pay over $70,000 in restitution and a $5,000 fine.
