7 January 2020 News
A deferred judgment agreement has been reached with the former Ripon man who allegedly threatened to shoot city officials over a property dispute. Seventy-five-year-old David Zeatlow was in Fond du Lac County court for a competency hearing Monday. He was found competent and pleaded guilty to three charges stemming from threats made in July of 2018. An agreement was reached for deferred prosecution or sentencing depending on Zeatlow and his future actions. According to the criminal complaint Zeatlow made the threat to an official with the Governor’s office when he tried to get that office to intervene and stop the razing of his home in Ripon. The threat was passed along to Ripon Police who provided added security at City Hall and for the Mayor, City Administrator, and City Attorney. The home was torn down due to its condition and complaints from neighbors. Zeatlow now lives in Fond du Lac.
