The annual Shop with a Cop held at the Walmart Store in Fond du Lac Thursday evening gave 130 children the chance to Christmas shop for family members. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the event has been going on for the better part of 30 years. “All over Fond du Lac County these kids come to the Fond du Lac Walmart and we take care of them. A great event again and a lot of volunteers and it is a big project to put together, but we pull it off every year with the help of so many different people and I really appreciate that.” Each child is also allowed to spend up to $50 each on family and they receive a toy, winter cap and scarf, and afterwards are treated to a Subway sandwich meal. More than 100 volunteers helped make it possible from every branch of law enforcement and justice in the county.
