State health officials are warning residents not to eat romaine lettuce grown in Salinas Valley, California regardless of the brand. They say E.coli bacteria was found in an unopened bag of pre-washed romaine lettuce collected from a sick person’s home. Tests will confirm whether this strain of E.coli matches a strain causing the multi-state outbreak linked to romaine lettuce. The bag found at the ill person’s home was a Fresh Express® brand romaine with a sell by date of 11/14/19 and a lot code of Z301 A05B.
