Ripon School Board Approves Replacement Of Artificial Turf At Ingalls Field
18 December 2019 News
The Ripon School Board Monday night unanimously approved new artificial turf for Ingalls Field. Installation of the Ironturf and shockpad will begin next June at a cost of $514,500. The football field is used by both the Ripon Tigers high school football team and Ripon College Redhawks football team. The turf is expected to last for 20 years. The school district will pay the majority of the cost with Ripon College allowed to finance their portion of the project for 10 years at a 3 percent interest rate. Two school district funds will pay for the project the majority, $313,000, through an endowment fund established through a voter-approved referendum in 2006. School Board President Gary Rodman abstained from the voting.
