MRS FUN Coming To Thrasher

17 November 2019 News

Join us for our annual post-Thanksgiving Jazz concert hosted by Janet Planet, at the historic Thrasher Opera House in downtown Green Lake on Friday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. This year’s concert will feature Milwaukee’s jazz duo, MRS FUN. The concert will be preceded by an onstage interview at 6:45 p.m. with the performers by Kurt Dietrich, author of Wisconsin Riffs: Jazz Profiles from the Heartland.

MRS. FUN plays nu jazz with Connie Grauer playing the bass-driven keyboard and Kim Zick on the drums. Their music is an adventurous and unique blend of jazz, ultra-funk, spoken word rap and their own twist of neo-cabaret. The group has won multiple awards including Best Contemporary Jazz Group by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) for three consecutive years. Grauer and Zick have also received WAMI awards for Best Instrumentalist: keyboards and drums.

Tickets are available for $22 at the Thrasher office, Horicon Bank (Green Lake), Webster’s Marketplace, Ripon Drug (Ripon), Twister (Princeton), or by calling (920)-294-4279. Tickets are also available online at www.thrasheroperahouse.com.

Sponsored by Steve’s Quality Painting and Soft Washing. Hospitality supported by McConnell Inn. This performance is also supported in part by grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.
