The Green Bay Packers (8-2) stepped back into the snow globe that is Lambeau Field and handed a loss to the Carolina Panthers (5-4) in a nail-biting finish Sunday. Packers RB Aaron Jones picked up three touchdowns in the 24-16 win over the Panthers. No. 33 has a league-leading 14 touchdowns this season—tied with Panthers opponent Christian McCaffrey. The game went down to the last second with McCaffrey stopped just short of the end zone as the clock hit zero.

The Panthers were plagued by penalties and turnovers—a fumble and an interception—on the snowy Frozen Tundra. A light snow at the beginning of the game picked up intensity in the second half, leaving a slick cover on the field. There were some head scratching decisions by both teams. The Panthers went for two at the beginning of the fourth quarter but were unable to convert. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur rolled the dice on two fourth-down attempts, but they backfired on the Packers. Linebacker Preston Smith picked up two sacks for a career high 10 this season.

WR Davante Adams topped 100 receiving yards.

The Packers have a bye week and then they head to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. They don’t return to Lambeau Field until Dec. 8 to host Washington. The Packers head into their bye week with the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

Elsewhere in the NFC North, the Bears won at home over the Lions 20-13 and last night the Vikings won at Dallas 28-24.

Tonight, the 49ers, the league’s only unbeaten team left, host the Seattle Seahawks.

In the NBA Sunday, the Bucks edged the Thunder at Oklahoma City, 121-119.  Giannis Antetokoumnpo led Milwaukee with 35 points and 16 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe added 25.  Dennis Schroder led the Thunder with 25.  The Bucks trailed at the half, 56-50, and Giannis in anger and frustration, smashed a Thunder sign on his way to the locker room.  He also bit and tore his own jersey. Antetokounmpo did offer to pay to replace the broken symbol of his Sunday night host. Luckily for Oklahoma City, the Bucks won’t visit them again until next season. The display of anger seemed to rejuvenate the Bucks as the outscored the Thunder 37-24 in the third quarter and then held on for the win.  Milwaukee improves to 7-3 and are in third place in the Eastern Conference and return home Thursday to take on the Bulls.

In Level 3 high school football action from Friday night, Kiel won at home over Berlin, 21-14.  The Indians finish the season at 9-3.  Berlin scored late in the second quarter on a 40-yard touchdown pass from Kobe Krebs to Aiden Shilling and then Landon Sobieski scored on an eight-yard run in the fourth quarter but the Raiders held on for the win.
