Sports for November 19th
The Packers held a short practice Monday after returning from the bye week. The players seemed well-rested and ready to prepare for this Sunday night’s game on the road against the 49ers. Defensive lineman Kenny Clark said it was good to get a little time off.
The players are off today before starting preparations on Wednesday for the 49ers. The team will leave for San Francisco on Saturday.
In Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs held on to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers in Mexico City, 24-17. The Chargers Phillip Rivers threw four interceptions, his last coming as the Chiefs Daniel Sorensen stepped in front of running back Austin Ekeler on an underthrown pass in the end zone for the pick. Prior to that play, Rivers had completed a 50-yard pass to wide receiver Mike Williams to get the Chargers to the Chiefs 25. Rivers was 28-52 for 353 yards and one touchdown. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went 19-32 for 182 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception. Tight end Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. Kansas City improves to 7-4 in the AFC West while the Chargers fall to 4-7.
CHICAGO (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 33 points and 10 rebounds, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Chicago Bulls 115-101 on Monday night for their fourth straight victory. Brook Lopez added 19 points and 10 rebounds as Milwaukee won for the eighth time in nine games. The Bucks also beat the Bulls 124-115 on Thursday in Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo was 13 for 22 in his 13th consecutive double-double to begin the season. It’s the longest active streak in the NBA. Daniel Gafford led Chicago with 21 points in his return from the G League. Coby White had 13, and Ryan Arcidiacono finished with 12. The Bulls got 63 points from their reserves, but Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen struggled. LaVine finished with 11 points on 4-for-16 shooting, and Markkanen had nine on 2-for-12 shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Bucks forward Khris Middleton (bruised left thigh) missed his third consecutive game. He isn’t expected back until December.
The Milwaukee Brewers are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2020. The team announced how it plans to commemorate a half-century in Wisconsin. One of the questions on many fans’ minds is, will the team bring back a version of the ball-in-glove logo, as has been speculated in several published reports this offseason. The fans were heard, when the Brewers added the ball-in-glove logo in the unveiling Monday night at Miller Park.
