Disappointment Expressed Over Veto Of Sex Offender Placement Bill

25 November 2019 News

State Senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac and State Representative Michael Schraa of Oshkosh released a statement Friday after Governor Tony Evers vetoed Senate Bill 60, which has to do with the placement of sexually violent sex offenders. Feyen and Schraa both expressed disappointment that the veto will allow the practice of out-of-county placement of sexually violent offenders to continue. Governor Evers objections had to do with another provision of the bill that has to do with who has say over how far an offender can be placed from a school, child care facility, public park, place of worship, or youth center.
