Ripon School Board Approves Property Tax Levy

The Ripon Area School Board Monday night unanimously approved a 6.8 percent increase in the tax levy for the 2019-2020 School Year. The increase is nearly $449,000 from the previous academic year with a total levy of just over $7 million. The mill rate will also increase by 68 cents to $10.25 per thousand dollars of value on a property. The percentage increase in the levy is the largest since a 10.76 percent increase in the 2014-2015 academic year when the mill rate was $12.43 and the levy was nearly $1 million higher. The Equalized Property Valuation for the district fell by nearly $2.3 million during the past year.
