Ripon Area United Way Campaign Underway

The Ripon Area United Way campaign has gotten off to a good start. Jeff Puhlmann-Becker is the president of their board of directors. He says the Ripon Rotary Club is one of their pacesetters and got them off to a fast start with a check for $8,500 or 10 percent of this year’s goal of $85,000. Last year the campaign fell a little short of the $90,000 goal with a change in the tax laws and a pacesetter backed out of the campaign late. The goal was set a little lower because three groups that usually ask for funding didn’t need the help. The campaign will get another boost with their 2nd Annual Trivia Night at Ripon College on Thursday, November 7th. People had a good time at last year’s event. “We had a professional trivia presenter come in and do it. It didn’t cost us much at all and the end result was great. So we are doing that again this year and that’s our major fundraiser in United Way besides the gifts we get from individuals and organizations our fundraiser is that dinner we’re really excited about it.” Those who would like to participate in Trivia Night should contact Janet Price at State Farm (920) 748-3440.
